Broken Ground Symposium – How do we experience the city?  BOOK NOW

Saturday February 18^th

On Saturday February 18^th a multi disciplinary event will take place with experts from the fields of archaeology, history, geography, planning, architecture, museums, psychology and art, offering an opportunity to share ideas and experiences in the creative environment of Phoenix Brighton.

The day will consist of an introduction to the exhibition by exhibiting artists Derek Besant, Jayne Wilson and Peter Marsh. Panel discussions, networking and a creative activity will take place with the focus on Psychogeography, debating the following concepts:

• Destruction is an ever present negative force in the city
• One experiences the city in a purely emotional way, drawing on personal history, prejudices, habits and expectations

Sat 19 May and Sun 20 May, 11am- 5pm

Professional artists and designer-makers open their studios inviting you to discover more about their creative practice. It is a great opportunity to go behind the scenes, talk to artist’s first-hand, and see work in progress.
