| Artists Talk - Kim Fielding, Director of tactileBOSCH
15 April |

Phoenix staff and artists – Vicky Melody, Anna Dumitriu, Sara Duffy and Lucy Greenaway successfully applied for funding from NAN to Go and See artists group tactileBOSCH in Cardiff.
After a very long train journey we attended the closing event at tactileBOSCH’s gallery for recent MA Slade fine art show, the party moved over to a bar after everyone enduring sub zero temperatures for long enough in the gallery which was open to the sky in several places.
The next day we met with director Kim Fielding who kindly showed us around the complex which offers studio space to artists and a changing programme of exhibitions in several gallery spaces. We were greatly encouraged by our talks with Kim and immediately saw there were many parallels between Phoenix and tactileBOSCH.
Kim Fielding will visit Phoenix Arts Association to give a talk introducing tactileBOSCH to the Brighton arts community and we intend to develop studio and exhibition exchanges that allow us to work together to widen opportunities for artists within our networks and create a mutual support/advice structures.

PHOENIX GALLERY TALK
Sat 26 Apr 2pm
Phoenix Gallery, FREE.
Pakito Bolino and Caroline Sury from LE DERNIER CRI in Marseille, and Joyce Guley and Jan Dirk de Wilde from KNUST/EXTRAPOOL in Nijmegen will be at Phoenix Gallery on Saturday 26 April at 2 pm to talk about themselves and their work. This is a unique opportunity to find out about these artists’ books publishers who also organise workshops, residencies, performances, collaborations and other activities. You may also be interested in hearing about their work with “outsider” artists, or discussing issues around obscenity and censorship. DC and Knust are well known in the international “underground” world of independent publishing, (DC is notorious!) and have worked with artists from all over the world. Further information about them can be found at: www.lederniercri.org and www.extrapool.nl and www.phoenixarts.org
