[Course Notes]

rachel_cohen_experimantal

This course, focused on practical drawing for artists and open-minded beginners, will push the boundaries of what drawing can be. You will experiment with mark making on different surfaces using unusual and traditional materials using discussion and art history to explore ideas.

Rachel Cohen studied Art History at Sussex University and Fine Art at Brighton. She works with drawing and painting, photography, animation and site-specific installation. She organises workshops and courses and residencies involving public participation.  Local projects include Bookmarks at Jubilee Library, and Chinese Whispers, a drawing experiment in collaboration with scientists at The University of Sussex. www.rachelcohen.co.uk

Dinah Kelly received her BA in fine art from Ruskin School of Drawing.  A studio member of Phoenix, her work is influenced by Islamic art and architecture.  She is an artist educator currently working with Victoria and Albert Museum, Courtauld Institute, Pallant House, and Orleans House Gallery.
