Puppetry for Artists: Life-sized puppets and performance

with Isobel Smith

Make a puppet based on your own drawing/painting, and learn the puppeteering techniques needed to explore its character and make it come alive. The course will cover ideas generation and design, through to completion of your puppet. Techniques we will explore are: stitching, modelling with stockinette and stuffing, armature making, glueing and painting. There will be a demonstration of puppeteering skills followed by the opportunity to animate your puppet and explore and develop its character to music.
