Fine Art Course - daytime or evening

with Rachel Cohen and Dinah Kelly

[Course Notes]

Introduces a range of fine art media and techniques, with an ongoing focus on drawing. We use observational drawing as the starting point for work in a range of media including painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Some materials are included and a materials list is provided at the first session. Students may choose either the daytime or evening session, and can join for either one or both of the ten-week terms. Suitable for all levels, including beginners. This is a good preparation for a foundation course.

Rachel Cohen studied Art History at Sussex University and Fine Art at University of Brighton. She trained in printmaking at a private college in Treviso, Italy and at Kensington and Chelsea Institute London. She works as an artist educator at Towner Museum and De la Warr Pavilion. She makes artworks using participatory drawing games and is researching the cognitive processes of drawing in collaboration with psychologists.
